Meet Our New Staff

Sarah Cumming joins our Kalgoorlie team

Lucy Muir is excited about joining Earbus

We have welcomed new and returning staff – two in Kalgoorlie where Earbus has been working hard to reduce the incidence of middle ear infection in the community.

Carol Yarran has returned to Earbus, while Sarah Cumming and Lucy Muir are new members of the team.

Sarah told Earbuzz: “I’m a Nyoongar woman from the Southwest and Perth region, living in Kalgoorlie. I’m currently halfway through studying to be an enrolled nurse and grateful to be a part of the team at the Earbus Foundation.”

Lucy hails from Fremantle and moved to Borroloola in the Northern Territory in 2018.

In the Territory she was involved with the Garawa and Waanyi Garawa ranger groups, where she worked mostly with women organising camps and helping with biodiversity surveys and controlled burning.

“I had a great time learning about traditional land management and trying to catch fish. I also spent some time working at the Borroloola School where I gained an understanding of how ear health can affect a child’s ability to engage at school. Since moving back home this year, I was able to finish my studies in Community Development and Australian Indigenous Studies. I’m passionate about working with communities so I’m excited for the opportunity to work with Earbus and learn more about ears,” she told Earbuzz.
