Kimberley Earbus Planning Underway
Earbus Foundation is excited by the prospect of working in WA’s Kimberley region in 2018 with funding announced in September in the WA State Budget. The Kimberley Earbus deployment will be planned in collaboration with WACHS Kimberley, the Kimberley Ear Health Planning Group and the existing ear health service providers. Potential key partnerships will be the Kimberley Population Health Unit, Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Corporation (KAMSC) and regional AMSs in Derby, Broome, Fitzroy, Halls Creek and Kununurra.
Commencing with a Workshop in Broome on 5 October the detailed planning is now underway to link Earbus services into existing referral pathways and work in partnership to achieve the best outcomes for Aboriginal children, families and communities.
Rotary Club of Karrinyup generously funded the design and construction of the Kimberley Earbus as a 40th Anniversary fundraising project. The art work on the bus was chosen from designs by Kimberley students attending Coolgardie CAPS School and digitalised by Gilimbaa creative agency in Queensland.
