Dr Helen Goulios
Board Member
Associate Professor Helen Goulios is the Clinical Director of Audiology at the University of Western Australia (UWA). Since the course began in 2000, Helen’s work has contributed to the education of more than80% of Western Australia’s Audiologists, She continues to mentor many graduates, aiding the professional growth and development of Audiology nationally and internationally.
Prior to commencing at UWA, Helen held senior clinical, policy and management positions in Perth, Sydney and London. This provided significant knowledge and depth of experience for teaching and research and built strong and extensive networks nationally and internationally.
Helen’s strong interest in promoting Audiology education has included working with the East Java (Indonesia) government to establish early identification and intervention services for children. In Australia, she chaired the National Working Group for Rural and Regional Hearing Healthcare for the Commonwealth Health Department.
Other voluntary contributions include Board Member/National Vice-President of Audiology Australia, the peak professional body for Audiologists. In 2023 she was awarded Life Membership of Audiology Australia - only awarded 6 times previously in 60 years.
In addition to her Ph D, Dr Goulios holds a BSc (Hons), a Master of Clinical Audiology and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Audiology. Helen joined the Earbus Foundation Board in July 2024.
