State of the Ears
Earbus Foundation of WA is excited to present State of the Ears, a unique and detailed data snapshot from six years of working across regional and remote WA. The live presentation will feature three keynote speakers and an invited audience at the State Theatre Centre in Northbridge on 15th September.
Professor Harvey Coates AO will share 40 years’ experience as an Ear Nose and Throat Specialist working in many different parts of remote WA. Dr Carol Dowling, a Badimaya/Yamatji woman and academic, will share the lived experience of parenting Aboriginal children with ear disease.
Earbus Co-founder and CEO Paul Higginbotham will unpack data insights from 6 years of Earbus Outreach work across 80 regional sites.
As Australia refreshes Closing The Gap and its way of working with Aboriginal Australia the challenge of ear disease is critically important. “I believe 9, if not 10, of 16 new targets will be directly affected by children’s inability to hear well” said Mr Higginbotham.
