New Technology Roll-out

At the Manila Conference of the Coalition on Global Hearing Health in October 2016 Earbus Foundation executive and clinical staff viewed exciting new technology in hearing testing. Now, thanks to funding from our corporate sponsor AngloGold Ashanti, we are ready to use these innovative devices, some for the first time in Australia.

An innovative audiometric iPad based software application from Canada – Shoebox – offers professional quality portable testing options with extended features that include speech discrimination testing, bone conduction and masking. Shoebox stores testing data and results into a HIPAA compliant cloud-based data portal that can securely manage and store patient audiograms and history. For services like Earbus, who manage large-scale projects with various testing locations (numerous clients, clinics, employees, patients, and clinical research subjects) compiling, managing, and analysing data from a fleet of iPads can be challenging. Shoebox offers an Enterprise Data Management option that is perfectly aligned with Earbus Outreach needs. And importantly, Shoebox allows testing of younger children.
