Rotary Rubber Readying for the Road
In 2013 Rotary Club of Karrinyup committed to raising funds to design and build a customised off-road Earbus for use in regional and remote Western Australia. The Rotary Earbus is now under construction and scheduled for completion on 19 October. Rotary Club of Karrinyup has provided outstanding leadership through Peter Durrant, Heather Leaney and Ian McDonagh who have driven the project from inception to near-completion. Specialist technical and planning expertise from Nick Nedkoff and Tony Bayliss handed the builders a detailed set of specifications as a construction blueprint.
Enthusiastic and energetic fundraising has involved a number of Perth metropolitan Rotary Clubs joining to support the Earbus project. Earbus CEO Paul Higginbotham is in awe of RCK’s ambitious collaboration, “Working with Peter, Heather and Ian for the past three years has been a joy,” he commented “and the attention to design detail from Nick and Tony has to be experienced to be believed.”
An official launch date will be announced soon.
