Meet Deirdre Louw
I completed my General training in Johannesburg General Hospital and following my training I was convinced that I was not going to be a hospital nurse, so completed a Diploma in Midwifery, Diploma in Community Health, Diploma in Occupational Health, and Diploma in Primary Care. These qualifications stood me in good stead to work within a variety of community settings. In 2006 I completed my Masters in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner).
In 2004 I was offered a position in Meekatharra as a community health nurse, which I accepted, and spent 3 happy years working in Meekatharra. From there I moved to Bremer Bay (in 2007) and enjoyed 6 years working in the Health Centre offering a variety of health services to the community of Bremer Bay.
In 2014 I commenced with Silver Chain working in Katanning and surrounding communities as a Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner.
