2014 - Done and Dusty
Earbus Foundation of Western Australia is about to complete a busy year of visits to the Pilbara and Goldfields in pursuit of better ear health for Aboriginal children. In 2014 the Foundation’s Clinical Team made 24 trips to regional WA – many of them in hot, dusty and trying conditions. Strelley challenged the team with a top of 45 degrees on the October visit but apart from a bit of brow wiping none of our extraordinary team complained at any stage. We also struck a 45 degree day in Warralong in February.
The remarkable combination of doctors, nurse practitioners. audiometrist, ENT specialists, audiologists and others put in a formidable effort in treating over 1000 children in the Goldfields and 360 in the Pilbara. In the second half of the year we were joined by Australian Hearing staff and UWA Masters of Clinical Audiology students.
In 2015 we are back with an expanded program, exciting new partnerships and more clinicians. Stay tuned!
